About Slyce Coal-Fired Pizza Company

If you’re the kind of person who believes great pizza can turn an ordinary day into a memorable one, let me introduce you to Slyce Coal-Fired Pizza Company, a laid-back pizza restaurant sitting right at 127 N Main St, Wauconda, IL 60084, United States. From the moment you hear the name Slyce Coal-Fired Pizza Company, you already get a hint that this place takes its pizza seriously, and honestly, it shows in every detail. The coal-fired approach gives the crust that irresistible balance of crisp edges and a chewy center, while the toppings feel thoughtfully chosen rather than thrown together. I like how the atmosphere manages to be casual without feeling careless, which makes it just as suitable for a quick bite as it is for a long, relaxed evening with friends. On top of that, the service options are refreshingly flexible, so whether you’re in the mood for dine-in, takeaway, delivery, kerbside pickup, or even no-contact delivery, it fits right into real life without fuss. The menu goes beyond basic slices, offering comfort food vibes alongside healthier and organic dishes, which means groups with mixed tastes usually find common ground pretty fast. There’s also a solid lineup of vegan and vegetarian options, so no one feels like an afterthought at the table. Meanwhile, if drinks matter to you as much as the food, you’ll appreciate the range of alcohol choices, including beer, cocktails, wine, and spirits, not to mention happy-hour drinks that pair nicely with small plates. Even coffee makes an appearance, which feels perfect for slower afternoons or casual meetups. Outdoor seating adds another layer of charm, especially when the weather cooperates, and it gives the whole experience a neighborhood feel that’s hard to fake. Overall, Slyce Coal-Fired Pizza Company comes across as the kind of pizza restaurant you recommend without hesitation, because it consistently delivers flavor, flexibility, and a vibe that feels welcoming rather than overdone.

Went as a group of 8 including 4 kids. Our server, Tina, was kind, great with the kids, and attentive. The kids got dough balls to pass the time, which was a big hit! The food was really REALLY good! Massive salad, artichoke dip, and all the pizzas were outstanding and delicious.

This was a happy unexpected find! My friends and I were very hungry and trying to find something nearby that wasn't fast food but quick and shareable (family style) type of place. We wanted a treat on a budget and we got it! They had a happy hour special and we took full advantage of it! The food was incredible. I could have lived off of their salad special but their appetizer was on the same level. The fire roasted pizza was better than Subterranean's in Chicago and I love their pizza! The server was so attentive and courteous. He made us feel so special. I want to go back to try other items that sounded delicious.

Came up on our way to Harry Potter Forbidden Forrest pop up and were BLOWN away as to how incredible affordable and delicious this food was. Service was impeccable, prompt and attentive. Meatballs were moist and perfect size. Bread was doughy, soft and flavorful. Wings came in monstrous portion and very tasty. Greek salad was amazing, but also for at least 2-3 people! Fantastic portions. No pizza picture because we were too fast at wanting to dig in and forgot!

Tried Slyce last night for the first time. Overall really great pizza, a little heavy on the cheese for Neapolitan style pizza. We ordered the #5 and #15, neither disappointed but a little cheese heavy. I think a pinch less cheese would only further elevate the flavors. Maybe I’ll ask for a little lighter cheese next time, this is a personal preference for Neapolitan style pizza. Did not hold that against the restaurant. We tried the Nonna’s meatball appetizer and it did not disappoint, the sauce was great, this is coming from someone that is not huge on red sauce. The meatballs were very tender and flavorful! Tried the Sunset Spritz which was refreshing for a hot day, very nice special for the summer. Also had a Red wine sangria, who doesn’t love a good sangria! Definitely will be back to try more pizzas! We orange the orange cream cannoli which my husband was skeptical about. They were really good not heavy like he thought they may be. Thanks for the great pizza, it was a real treat for someone that is not huge into pizza!

We were there for dinner. Ordered Goat cheese Bruschetta and it was very nice. Bread and basil flavored toppings. Right mix Ordered #6 Roasted Red pepper, egg plant. Pizza tasted great. The edges were burnt and could be because of coal fire. But overall nice experience and nice taste, ambience

We love this place! Great impromptu date night restaurant. Wednesday's special is half price wine...yes please! The pizza is delicious and our service was outstanding. The only downside is the parking, very limited.

The food here is fantastic. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, caesar salad, and a pizza. It was more than enough food for two people and we wound up with leftovers. We came on a Friday night with no reservation and were seated immediately inside. They do have outdoor seating, but it was taken/reserved. We will definitely be back!
